Nidhi Srivastava – Solution and Integration Expert at Irdeto
Mrs. Nidhi Srivastava embodies the words leadership and ambition. Now a Solution and Integration Expert at Irdeto, she began her scientific journey at Carmel Convent in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Her school did not offer mathematics as a subject at Intermediate, so in order to appear for the UP board examinations with Maths, she took special permission from UP Board and studied of her own. She was amongst the five students in her grade who appeared for the Maths exam. At that time in the late 80s, not many options were available to students; it all came down to medicine, engineering, and administrative services. Although she was good at Humanities and wanted to pursue administrative services, she did well in her math exam and her parents encouraged her to pursue engineering. Recognizing her own caliber, she decided to pursue the field and so, she found herself at IET Lucknow, studying Electronics & Communication and later did her postgraduate in Engineering from IIT Roorkee
She began her career as a Project Engineer for the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) where she worked for seven years. In 2007, she joined DishTV, a DTH provider in India which, at that time, had just begun to establish itself. She worked as the Head STB Development, heading a large team, representing women in directorial positions. She worked with Dish for 13 years where she was constantly acclaimed for her performance. In May 2020, Mrs. Nidhi wanting to challenge her capabilities, joined Irdeto , a company which is world leader in digital platform security. She now works as a Solution and Integration Expert there.
She has always been inspired by her father, who throughout guided and encouraged her to do well. It was because of the support of her parents that she was able to study and take up a challenging career. She was fortunate that she could continue her career post marriage and got all round support and encouragement from In-laws and husband.
In future she plans to start a coaching/ career guidance centre for young students... she wants to pay back to society…. and what better way to create and nurture talent pipeline for society and nation.
